i just found out last night that these two pillow pieces of mine: green pillow brooch and strawberry tiered pillow bracelet, will be featured in the book titled "500 plastic jewelry" by lark books. they should be printed this summer and in the book stores by fall of 2009. i am thrilled beyond words!! YiPpY!!!!!

guatemala...
we just got home from a family wedding and vacation in guatemala. chris' uncle mike married a lovely, spunky and fun loving, alex. they were such a joy to meet!!! happy wedding you two. here's just a couple pictures from our favorite place. lake atitlan!! it was breathtaking. i'll post more detailed pics. soon. these two images are from casa del mundo. i would highly recommend staying and eating there if you get down that way :O)
i'm trying to get back in the swing of things: handmade austin women is right around the corner, i'm finishing orders and need to make a handful of new pieces for the upcoming show, plus trying to regain my strength in my yoga practice...after being away for two weeks, uggh!!

this is a bowl of spinach and swiss chard that chris and i grew in our garden. the purity of these lovely, nutritious, greens and all other veggies and home grown organic goodness hangs in the balance.
save our organic farms. congress is trying to pass a bill to do away with the purity of our food and organic farming as we know it.....the more people that know the better, forward this on to everyone you know. the link for the petition and more information on "HR 875" is below. this is an urgent matter...we only have two weeks to fight this.

i'm excited to post this orange polyp ring with the vintage matte lentil beads.
rose gold pebble earrings
these were special order earrings commissioned by yogagroove (the studio where i practice bikram yoga) for an amazing woman, rajashree choudhury. it is such an honor knowing they are a gift for her. she is in austin this weekend giving a seminar on bikram yoga. rajashree is world renowned for teaching bikram hatha yoga along with her husband, bikram choudhury, the founder and master of bikram yoga.
this truly means so much to me because my bikram yoga practice and yogagroove has changed my life. in essence, it has helped me peel away the layers of myself and let go of the unneccesary brain clutter that can weigh me down on a daily basis while bringing to the surface clarity and insight into myself. essentially....it clears the cobwebs out of my brain!!! at 90 minutes a class in a room heated to 105 degrees, you're sure to sweat your butt off. it really feels incredible to sweat that much. i love driving home feeling euphoric and happy that i went back for more. i have made so many great friends thru practicing yoga on a regular basis and am incredibly thankful for the encouragement from my friend christa who urged me to give it a try. after taking my first class (over 2 years ago) i was completely hooked and have been practicing since.
these sweet little "pebble earrings" are made of rose gold and about 1/8" wide.
