super girl..
this girl is super....fun, crazy and whimsical softies at dayofthehead, found on etsy...... love this one!!!
polyps...what a tease.
i have been fascinated by salt water aquariums since i was young and had a few fish of my own. i would go to the aquarium shop to buy food and become mesmerized by the wide array of colors, textures and variety of shapes moving about in their seductive underwater dance. i always dreamed of having one someday but was under the impression that it is much more work than a fresh water tank and also not suitable for a beginner. "oh contrare" says the man behind the fish tank counter. chris and i went in because i have been wanting to get a goldfish that has the "water balloon" looking eyes. well, they didn't have those BUT they did have some really amazing salt water fish, sponges, starfish.....they even had a bright yellow seahorse. it was pure bliss watching those little creatures work their magic. the image above is from a website forum for people who have small salt water aquariums. how amazing would it be to have a small piece of ocean life in your house to see it change and grow everyday :O) click here to see some amazing varieties of salt water gems. image by civicsit.

green polyp collage neckpiece

yeah...i'm so excited to have this piece finished and photographed. it's made with a beach pebble, glass beads, filament, repurposed fiberglass, and part a vintage plastic bead.
first bloom
the first bloom of the season on our nasturtium plant. i love love love these....the organic shaped leaves, the vibrant orange flowers, the whimisical dancing stems, the whole dang package.
new polyp earring: basket

a new style of polyp earring that reminds me of a little basket. the basket shaped ear wire rests inside a small piece of tubing on one side of the "basket" to complete both the aethetic and the function of the earring.
i really love the way the clear glass gives the air of vintage........
new earrings: candy sticks

these make me a happy girl. i am so excited to offer these to my customers. i will be posting them on etsy soon (since my earring page on this site is already full)....or you can email me if your interested in a pair.
they are made with sterling silver and vintage sequins from france and belgium.
the candy pink pair and the skinny red pair is made into a curvey "v" shape. all the others are made into straight columns. i have a few other colors i am excited to try out as well. these remind me of sweet tarts and the paper sticks full of candy powder i would eat growing up :O)
a few more rings

new rings...
limon green: glass
pale periwinkle: holly blue agate
black: beach pebble...i love this one it reminds me of a moustache and the little tubing is a mole :O)
salad for dinner
i enjoy a salad that is half lettuce and half everything else from nuts, cucumber, cranberries, tofu, fresh mushrooms, cooked beets, purslane, beet greens or swiss chard, basil, nasturtium leaves.....aka pepper circles and the nasturtium flowers...sometimes grapefruit. i wish i had the energy to make one every night but sometimes i will not break down and wash the lettuce. that's really the thing that holds me back, silly, right? sometimes a few weeks wil pass and then when i finally break down and make a salad the way i like them....with everything, they taste so good that's all i want for days...tastey!!! i love the way it looks in chris' beautiful grande bowl.
