well, it's way past THAT time for me, clean-up time studio style!!!! for any of you who have seen my "busting at the seams, i am surprised it can still hang on the wall, crap piled everywhere jewelry bench" you know what i am talking about, and if you haven't seen it....my husband, chris doesn't lovingly call me "crap hound" for no reason. motivated by my very skilled and generous hubby who made me a brand spankin' new soldering station while i was in st. louis, i now have a "new", fresh, clean, and ORGANIZED studio to work in....yippy!!!!! drum roll please....... Ta Dah..................
here is a 360 degree view.........

p.s.---don't open the closet :)
p.s.s.--i will work very hard to keep my studio clean of debris and clutter....as for my jewelry bench?? i can't make any promises :O)

here's a pic of "my scores" at my all time favorite thrift store in st. louis. st. vincent de paul thrift store on forest park blvd. is the best.......i llllllove going there when i go home. that was my first stop in town after i dropped my mom off at work since she picked me up on her lunch break.......thanks ma!! she would have gone with me if she would have been off work (yep, i get it honestly...from my mom and dad both) i am loving this color family....grey, creme, peachpink.....yum!!! this could be my next triple pendant color family.
no sooner than i sat down in my seat on the plane and buckled myself in i passed out. this is high relaxation time for because i am away from my studio and seriously can no longer make work.......this is always a big relief to know that i can just "be still" for awhile. so i promptly fell asleep before the wheels of the plane even left the ground. i am always bummed out when there is a loud speaker announcement on the plane........how many times can i really wake up from the P.A. announcement and actually fall back to sleep.....about seven times, i guess. my family has laughed at me since i was very little for being able to sleep just about anywhere. i had a straight shot flight just briefly stopping in houston to pick up a few other sky bunnies and off to st. louis we go.
here's one more polyp piece. the red polyp double pendant.....with the added stitching detail. i love those stitches. i can't wait until i get back from the art and air show so i can make more. i am getting down to the wire before take off. i leave early wednesday morning. now i am in the photographing, pricing, waxing & packing phase.
this is my new favorite drink.
new and exciting news for me personally.......the studio where i practice bikram yoga is expanding. YiPpY!!!!!!!!!!!!! which essentially means more classes, more incredible instructors, a juice bar, a store with yoga clothes, art work by the students and a special case just for my jewelry. i am so excited. this place has changed my life in such a big way. if anyone out there is at all interested in yoga and has never tried it i highly recommend bikram yoga. to learn more about bikram yoga watch the clip below (you'll have to copy and paste the link into the browser since i can't figure out how to add a link within the text yet) my practice has given me a clear mind and the ability to let go of the little fussy stuff & and some big stuff too....not to mention that i feel better & stronger than ever before. when i leave class i feel like every cell in my body is alive, awake, and doing the happy dance. swooper!!!!
the second sewn piece in the horizontal design.......sterling, vintage plastic cabochon, vintage glass beads & thread.
i just finished a handful of new pieces for the art and air art festival in st. louis, mo. i leave on wednesday to head up there.. ..yippy, i am so excited. it's always a super fun show. it will be great to see my family, some friends from college & other friend i have made thru the art fair circuit. i hope the weather holds.....it can be a bit tricky weather-wise up there at this time of year for the outdoor shows.
our good friends from edwardsville (where chris and i went to school) rick dunn and kirsten jacobsen came down for the art of the pot tour as well. rick was one of the participating artist's this year. they both make incredible pots and it was a great time to hang out with them here in austin since they had never been before. you can find his contact info on the art of the pot website if you can't live without a swell mug like this one.
my friend trish brought me a new delish smoothie last night. it was uber yummie and orange...personal perfection
these icy sage green beads look yummy with the metal birdcage design. and these need to be sanded still....sometimes i am 6 and 6 on whether i should leave the gunmetal oxidized surface. hmmmm........especially in the previous pic of the opal chandelier.
new earrings. i haven't sanded them to bring back the silver surface yet...but i love the slightly ivory opal look to these beads :O)
