stitched
the necklaces i needed to sew the stitches on are finished up :O) i am really excited about 'em

my original plan on the red one was to leave the holes open just as a detail in the metal but i got sucked in by the look of the other stitches......

fuzzy wuzzie...
these are the sweetest creatures ever....(besides beanie) i fell in love with these fuzzy wuzzies when i drove thru some alpaca farms driving around ohio making my way to my late uncle morris' house in between a couple shows. have i mentioned that i have a really bad sense of direction, sense of smell, yes....sense of direction...negative. i stayed for a few days and was so relieved to see family. i got lost so many times on that road trip so familiarity and comfort was just what the doctor ordered. we had some good eats and relaxation before i had to head off for the next adventure.
the picture above is of one of maple's alpacas of the north star alpacas in ithica, michigan. i love that maple will send a picture of the alpaca that created the fur used to make a particular hat. yippity :O) i may have to buy one just to get a picture of one of those sweet little guy. oh my, i think he would fit in just fine in my back yard. neaner, beanie, bobie, booberry......okay his real name is brinkley (my baby.....dog, that is) would like him. beanie looks somewhat like a goat anyway when we cut his hair so they would be a perfect match. we're looking to expand the family anyway. hehehehehee!!
i thee wed....
here is jade's wedding band and engagement ring.......
these are made with white gold, rose gold, and a rough piece of texas topaz.
okay, i'm racing off to yoga. i'll post just a couple more things later.
happy friday....
blue candy polyp ring

this yummy, edible looking ring reminds me of the necklaces i used to wear/eat as a kid. you know the kind with the multi colored beads made of candy strung on the elastic chord. you know 'em. you love 'em....well, i did. so the blue ring brings back that memory for me. oh, those were the days to eat candy hand over fist and enjoying every second of it because your to naive to know any better :O i guess we all still have those days once and a while.....like when i have a starbucks mocha and a starbucks green tea latte all in the same day just so i can stay up late working. one of the workers at starbucks encouraged me by saying that it's green tea it can't be that bad for you......i responded by saying it's a "latte" which means or at least it tastes like it has tons of sugar in it, but for the sake and necessity of late night studio hours (when i typically work the best.) and he agreed. so yep, i am back on the junk (the starbucks junk, that is). at least i typically make the mocha at home.......anyway more to post....
oh, the garnet ring i made about a month or so ago but i don't think i posted it.
polyps o' plenty collage
here's another picture of a few more polyp earrings in the mix... the red one's are for one of my very best girlfriend's, jade. who is marrying our other good friend, robert.....we are too lucky :O) i can't wait til chris and i are hanging on the beach with them in florida for the wedding....coming soon at the end of the month. YIPPY!!!!!!!
i made jade's wedding band and engagement ring...i'll post pics. of those soon.
chocolate....
okay, everyone race to the store and grab a bag of these fabulous tasty treats. they are tortilla chips made with chocolate cocoa...sound crazy, maybe?? but they are incredibly delicious. there is a subtle underlying flavor of a deep dark chocolate combined with typical tortilla chip expectation. it's like dessert and a salty snack all in one. the company that makes 'em is called "foodshouldtastegood" and they are delish...check 'em out!
more polyp earrings
new juicy colors in the polyp earring variety.....the orange and green, anyway.

taste the rainbow
taste this rainbow of garden loving goodness. this image is a couple weeks old......now our poor lil' tomato bushes are pretty dry from all the heat. although, we have had a couple good rain storms over the last few days. oh, how i miss the real rainstorms from the midwest (sigh). although, i am happy that they have subsided a bit up there.....they definitely didn't need anymore rainfall. at least, not where my parents live in southern illinois.
i just wanted to share a photo from our garden bounty. i love the varying shapes, sizes, colors and flavors. i always buy to many plants for our small garden space...oops. we're feeling pretty lucky (as is our bellies) with all these since some of our friends only picked a couple from their plants. it's about time to cut the plants back so we can get our second crop in the late summer. hot damn, tomatoes...yippy!!
lions & tigers
and SLUGS, oh my!!!

i will openly admit that i am terrified of slugs, but my husband came from a visit with his folks yesterday with the june 2008 national geographic issue. they had an article featuring these fanciful & showy little ocean slugs called nudibranchs. these colorful slugs are a far cry from the slugs i grew up knowing and i love, love, love these little guys. just a reminder of the amazing beauty of the natural world around us. these little gems of the sea are sure to make you smile.......
watch this video about these incredible little creatures.
happy sunday :O)
doubles and triples....
here's a few more necklaces in the double and triple pendant style that are almost finished and will be ready shortly. well, once i make the chains, bead the tails, wax 'em & price 'em.......the ann arbor show is coming soon....jeepers!!! the settings have been done for awhile i have been dragging my feet to sand them and reveal some of the sterling thru the oxidation, oh yeah, and the photographing. i took them with me today so i could sand them while chris and i ran around doing errands. alas, here they are.....

single pendants.....
some new pieces i have been working on for the show in ann arbor. sorry for the short posting.......i wrote a really long windy one about photographing work and show applications and what i'm applying for AND it was deleted when the computer decided to show all numbers and letters on the screen. SO maybe later, i'll try to regurgitate all of it again, but for now here's a few new images of work. and then, i'm off to the studio. i'm trying to rearrange my studio hours a bit so i don't stay up until 2 or 3 am getting things for the day finished......but, i am starting today off late............there's always tomorrow, right??
glass
vintage glass
shell
beach pebble: this one will have sagey green stitching in the holes on the upper right..
the red one even though it has the holes in it will not have stitching. i love both the tiny hole details and the pieces with the stitching....i guess i'll have to make some pieces that have exposed hole details and also a stitched surface to satisfy my libra personality.
hope your day is peaches.......
